Miriam Madureira: »Action, Intersubjectivity and the performative character of the subjective identity in the thought of Hegel«; Eduardo Mendieta: »Jus Soli: On Normative Grounds«
Miriam Madureira is Professor of Philosophy at the Institute of Humanities of the »Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana« in Mexico City. She studied social sciences at the University of Sao Paulo (Brazil) and philosophy at Tübingen University (Germany).She received her PhD at the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main (superviser Axel Honneth). Madureira works primarily on the practical philosophy of German Idealism, especially on the thought of G.W.F. Hegel.
Eduardo Mendieta is Professor of Philosophy and Associate Director of the Rock Ethics Institute at The Pennsylvania State University. He has taught at the University of San Francisco and the Stony Brook University of the SUNY System, as well as universities in Mexico, Colombia and Brazil. He works primarily on twentieth century Latin American philosophy and post-WWII German philosophy (especially the work of Karl-Otto Apel and Jürgen Habermas). In 2017 he received the Frantz Fanon Outstanding Achievements Award.Registration
